November is synonymous with getting cozy at the Neptune House on Block Island. November is the start of the holiday season, so it’s the perfect time to either get away and de-stress before the hustle and bustle begins or start thinking about next year’s adventures for yourself or as a gift for your family and friends.

There is a bit of a chill outdoors during November but it’s nothing a cozy sweatshirt, scarf, and hat can’t fix! There is an average high of 53 degrees and average low of 42 degrees this time of year. We promise you won’t freeze if you go for a brisk walk! On the rare occasion of snow in November, you might just get to experience the beauty of our own little winter wonderland.

Walk on the Beach

Bundle up and experience the beach without the crowds! Even though it’s a little chilly out there, the sun is still shining and the views are still gorgeous. The Neptune House is just a short drive or brisk walk away from the island’s beautiful beaches, so it’s the perfect adventure to enjoy during your stay. Search for shells or sea glass or simply enjoy the walk alone, with a friend or with a loved one.

Get a Hot Beverage

After you’ve spent some time outdoors, there’s a chance you may want something warm to drink. Get a hot chocolate, coffee, or tea! There are several establishments still open this time of year, all within a short distance of the Neptune House. Our team will be ready to make suggestions when you need them.

Learn the local history

Block Island’s history dates back to the 1800s, so of course, there are some amazing stories waiting to be shared! Learn about the island’s origin when you visit our Historical Society.
